Art journaling is a wonderful way to find the courage and freedom to express yourself and experiment with creativity. In this 6-week course, you will create a unique hand-bound journal using easy-to-find materials and simple, fun techniques. This course is designed to bring a child-like spirit and playfulness to creating. You will use collage, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, alcohol inks, markers, stencils and monoprinting to create patterned papers that will be bound into a beautiful journal that is ready for your use. Anyone can join - no experience needed!
The course will have the following structure over the 6 weeks:
- Collage
- Stencilling and expressive mark-making
- Monoprinting using Gelli plates
- Image transfers
- Alcohol inks
- Book Binding
The tutor will vary the content to adapt to people's needs so that returning students will benefit from new techniques.
Materials provided. The cost is $80 for the 6-week course. If you have a Community Services Card, the fee is reduced by 50% to $40. If the class is full but you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email Nicola at dunedinwea@gmail.com
