ASB Bank, Professionelle and interviewer Hannah Ockelford are delighted to host a panel featuring the Chief Executive of Transpower – Alison Andrew, Chair of the Westpac Board – Pip Greenwood, and Culture Specialist – Dr Galia Barhava-Monteith.
These three women are all driven by a strong vision and a sense of purpose and fueled by wisdom, resilience, and self-belief. Alison, Pip and Galia have always and continue to disrupt the status quo, creating profound and positive change in the world we live and work in.

• Alison Andrew
Known for her humility and intellect, Alison Andrew joined Transpower in 2014 as Chief Executive. She has held a number of senior executive roles across various industry sectors and all in male dominated industries, most recently as Global Head of Chemicals for Orica PLC. She is currently a Director of Ports of Tauranga, and has also been a Director of Genesis Energy. Prior to these roles, she held senior roles at Fonterra Cooperative Group and across the Fletcher Challenge Group in Energy, Forests and Paper. Alison has an MBA from Warwick University and studied Engineering (Chemicals and Materials) at Auckland University.
• Pip Greenwood
A leader in the field of corporate law, Pip Greenwood was appointed to Westpac’s Board in 2019, becoming its chair just over a year ago. Prior to pursuing directorship roles, Pip had been with preeminent commercial law firm Russell McVeagh for 18 years; a partner with more than ten years’ experience on the firm’s board, previously serving as Board Chair and interim CEO. She is known for her expertise in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, and governance, and is the recipient of numerous industry awards, including five-time winner of the New Zealand “Dealmaker of the year” at the Australasian Law Awards. A champion of gender diversity, Pip is a current director on a number of other boards and a trustee of the Auckland Writers Festival.
• Dr Galia Barhava-Monteith
Originally from Israel, Dr Galia Barhava-Monteith is an expert in mentoring and organisational culture. She is perceptive and forward thinking and has become one of New Zealand’s leading organisational culture specialists. Galia has worked as a personal advisor to senior leaders and board directors at some of New Zealand’s largest corporates. A psychologist by training, Galia started her career with the Boston Consulting Group. She has also navigated her way through a challenging and life-threatening syndrome - an experience which informed her PHD. She is a notable advocate of mentoring as a way to support women and other disadvantaged groups in their careers. Her market-leading programme – “Oro Group-Mentoring” – has had a substantial impact on women’s careers in New Zealand and internationally. Galia co-founded the social change NGO Professionelle in 2007, this panel event is a legacy of her work.
• Hannah Ockelford – Panel interviewer
Hannah is the driving force behind the Professionelle and ASB Bank Female leader panel series. She curates and hosts these popular and entertaining events with some of the country’s most senior professional women. She also facilitates events on behalf of other corporates and organisations. Hannah trained as a journalist, spending 12 years in broadcasting mainly at TVNZ. Following that she worked for a global professional services company for 5 years before making the move to contract work.
