Auckland Regional Waka Ama Sprint Championship

The Auckland Regional Waka Ama Sprint Championship is the Auckland region’s annual championship which attracts paddlers from throughout Auckland Ages 6 to 70+

The Event is taking place on the 3rd & 4th December 2022
We will also be setting up the lanes for this event on Friday 2nd December

We would like to make you aware of our event and the affects it may have on the surrounding area during this time.

The event is run from Sylvan Park Reserve and will attract up to 500 paddlers in total over both days. This event facilitates the regions paddlers to qualify for the National event where paddlers compete for the opportunity to represent NZ at the World Sprint Championships every two years

We have put the following into place to minimise any impact our event may cause.
Traffic: There will be no road closures associated with our event however the reserve carpark is likely to be full of volunteer vehicles for the duration of the event. Event volunteers will be on hand to support parking and reserve access for support boats and waka drop off.

Noise: We will operate a PA System at our event and may have background music playing. The PA system will be operating within the event’s allocated hours and will comply with local noise restriction levels.
