Bent Horseshoe Presents LEGAL TENDER with Guest Wayne Mason at The Hokowhitu Bowling club.

I was talking to Ian the other day and we worked it out that Legal Tender were probably the 3rd band we had at the cafe.

Legal Tender are a band that have been playing for us since the beginning, about 15 years ago.
They always draw a good crowd and have a loyal following.

They are a country-based band,with great vocals and a good selection of songs.

They have added the remarkable Wayne Mason on Keys for this gig.

Wayne needs no introduction as he has appeared many times both as a side man and a feature artist as with the Chiefs the other night.

“Legal Tender ’ the duo of Ian and Moira Campbell have been performing an eclectic mix of Rural/folk covers and originals around New Zealand for more years than they care to remember. They frequently collaborated with other kiwi musicians including various members of the
Hamilton County Bluegrass Band, Bullfrog Rata, The Andrew London trio, Wayne Mason, and others.

They feature regularly at various country/folk festivals and concerts around New Zealand. With their blend of alt/country/folk covers and their own down-home original songs they have entertained audiences from the Bay of Islands to the Deep South.

Sensitive arrangements of songs by various Americana artists including Guy Clarke, Hank Williams, Holly Williams, Gillian Welsh and Lorri Mckenna are rendered with earthy integrity and powerful vocal harmonies.
