In the Birthday Artist series, we focus the spotlight on an artist whose birthday it is and give them all of our attention.
In our first session, you’ll learn all about Pablo Picasso, who was born on October 25, 1881. You’ll discover his different colour “periods”, Guernica, Cubism, the influence of African masks on his work, and his encounter with Nazi Germany.
You will also have the opportunity to play with some materials and make a Picasso-inspired art work to take home.
This session is designed with adults in mind.
Your host is Pania, a former Art History teacher at Wellington High School, and art educator at the Adam Art Gallery at Victoria University in Wellington.
Free.
