This year the Wellington Potters’ Association celebrates its 64th annual exhibition, Ceramicus 2022; a showcase of new pottery works by members hailing from the city of Wellington up to the Horowhenua/Kāpiti Coast and the Wairarapa. This exhibition will feature a range of pieces which captures the diverse range of work done by members of the club. You are invited to join us to celebrate the skill and talent of our artistic community.

This year's exhibition is curated by selector Karin Amdal. She will also be exhibiting in the exhibition as the guest artist of 2022. Karin has risen quickly to make an impression on the ceramics stage with her body of distinctive, elegant, and award winning work. Ideas and concepts underpin her work, often resulting in delightful and playful twists. She engages through a visual language of geometric forms and common everyday objects. Her Scandinavian sensibilities, connection to nature, and background in design are evident in her clean lines and natural finishes. Her motivation is to provoke smiles and an interaction beyond the physical aspect of the work.

“I’m delighted and privileged to be this year’s Ceramicus selector, do enter, it’s going to be fabulous” – Karin Amdal.

Ceramicus 2022 is made possible by the generous support of Wellington City Council, Decopot, Primo Clays, Abbots, ArtZone, and Massey University. The Wellington Potters’ Association would like to thank its generous awards sponsors for making this event possible and celebrating the creative talent in our community.
