This is a 6 week beginners’ course for people who are interested in learning the basics of crochet. Participants will learn the basic crochet stitches, tools and terms and then move forward to make some simple projects.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
1. Identify different needle sizes
2. Identify different types of thread suitable for crocheting
3. Understand basic crochet terms
4. Read simple crochet patterns
5. Hold the yarn and hook
6. Grasp the basic crochet stitches:
- slip stitch
- slip knot
- chain stitch
- single crochet
- double crochet
- half double crochet
- triple crochet
7. Utilise the basic crochet stitches to complete simple projects of your choice!

Materials provided. All students agree to comply with DWEA terms and conditions, and to comply with any SDCN Covid policies if these are required at the time of this class.
The cost is $75 for the 6-week course. This is payable by credit card via Paypal or internet banking.
If you have a Community Services Card, the fee is reduced by 50% to $37.50. In this case, please email your name, address, phone number and email address to dunedinwea@gmail.com stating which course you want to enrol in. We will enrol you and then you can pay the discounted price by bank transfer. You will be required to bring your Community Services Card on the first day of class for verification.
