CubaDupa

CubaDupa 2022 has been cancelled.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while our team worked through all our options to deliver this years festival safely under the Covid Protection Framework (Traffic Light System). And it is with great disappointment that we’ve had to cancel CubaDupa planned for 26 – 27 March 2022.

We have been working closely with our amazing Cuba Street community and partners to present CubaDupa in 'Green' or 'Orange' settings. However, with Aotearoa likely to be in the 'Red Light' setting of the Covid Protection Framework on the festival dates of 26 and 27 March 2022, we are cancelling six weeks out to provide certainty for our audiences, artists, sponsors, funders, suppliers and businesses who support and invest in the festival.

Our thoughts are with our local businesses who are already hurting, and benefit from the additional turnover that CubaDupa brings to the Cuba Street precinct each year. Please continue to support our Cuba precinct hospitality and retail businesses in Pōneke through this difficult time.

We are grateful to the Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Arts and Culture Event Support Scheme, and our key funders, Wellington City Council and Creative New Zealand who will ensure that we are able to support our artists, crew, and suppliers at this time. We sincerely thank you, our artists, our community, our sponsors and everyone who celebrates CubaDupa's diversity and creativity. We look forward to sharing more with you in the near future.

We are looking forward to building on our programme for a massive 2023 festival and will keep the CubaDupa portal running in readiness to transport our audiences into another dimension next year, 25 – 26 March, 2023.

Ngā Mihi Nui from all of us here at #CubaDupa.
