In this production, the story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for young and old, alike!
The 60-minute musical adventure, re-designed for youth performers, includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, including "Friend Like Me", "Prince Ali", and "A Whole New World"; along with the new songs by Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Disney’s Aladdin JR. is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (Australasia). All performance materials are supplied by Hal Leonard Australia.
