In this series of 1 hr Evening talks you’ll hear from people Restoring Relationships for the wellbeing of our environment and community. From lakes, mauri, gullies to native birds you’ll be educated, inspired and better connected to the restoration work happening around our region, and the people and groups behind it.

The Hamilton Halo project was established in 2007. When it was first established tui were a rare sight in Hamilton. Now, 15 years later, tui are a common sight in the city and there is an opportunity to make changes to the programme that will better support other species back into the urban areas.

Ellen Webb will share the success of Project Halo in bringing back tui and other native birdlife in Hamilton, along with her experience in predator control and knowledge regarding the protection of birds. Ellen has a Masters of Wildlife Management and has worked and/or volunteered in a variety of roles including biosecurity, predator control and for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds in England.

These talks can be attended on Zoom, or at EarthDiverse, 401 Angleasea Street, Kirikiriroa. If you’re interested in more talks like this, please check out our Lunchtime Talks in gullies across the city.
