Fish Fest: a family fun day celebrating our freshwater wildlife - and International Migratory Fish Day!

NZ Landcare Trust and Conservation Kids NZ are hosting FISH FEST. See an electric fishing demonstration (non-harming), have a go at identifying our freshwater fish and aquatic stream insects, and learn what makes a healthy stream. This event is part of the Rai Valley Community Stream project, a citizen science project collecting data on streams around Rai Valley, and the families are keen to share what they are finding.

10.20am - Electric Fishing Demonstration
10.30am - Fish ID Demonstration
11am - Macroinvertebrates hunt and ID
11.20am - Stream Habitat talk
11.30am - Opportunity to view other demonstrations and talk to experts
12noon - Sausage Sizzle

Parking will be at the paddock behind the reserve (if dry), please take care of pedestrians driving through the carpark.
