A hands on crafty workshop for 8year old kids and up.

In the first kids workshop of the season, we welcome young people to explore a highly useful and common household item: the cardboard tube, aka toilet paper roll!

Have you ever wondered what to do with your loo rolls, except for using them as fire starters? Have you got children that enjoy craft activities, but you yourself are running out of ideas for those long rainy Sundays? Well, this may just give you some inspiration ;) There will be templates of various animals for those who need some clear guidance- but children can also create their very own creatures of phantasy, supported by Faline and Tanja who have years of experience in spontaneous fun creations.

Craft materials, like everything else are becoming increasingly expensive and are often less than environmentally friendly - so why not use what you have on hand, and try out the very fashionable concept of upcycling? All we will be using apart from the obvious, is paint, glue , scissors and a variety of both natural and recycled material anyone can find in their surroundings today. The kids can make cute of ferocious, funky or pretty little creatures to take home. The process is very tactile and peaceful, and easy enough bring rewarding results even after a short session such as this one.

All materials provided.

$5 per child, under 8 year olds must bring an adult to help them. Registrations essential: https://www.riverside.org.nz/event-details/fun-animals-for-kids
