Funeral Convoy of British Cars

FUNERAL CONVOY OF BRITISH CARS IN RECOGNITION OF THE DEATH OF OUR QUEEN ELIZABETH II

It is with great sadness that the Land-Rover owners Club Auckland and the Jaguar Drivers Club acknowledges the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who for the vast majority of us has been the only Sovereign we have ever known.
In recognition of our Queen's wonderful, long life of service and being one of Jaguar Land-Rovers' greatest patrons, the Jaguar Drivers Club Auckland (JDCA), Land-Rover Owners Club Auckland (LROCA), along with the MG Car Club (MGCC) and the Daimler SP250 Club of NZ are planning to mark the day of Her Majesty's funeral on Monday 19th September 2022 with a "headlights-on" funeral convoy along the Tamaki Waterfront and then on to the Auckland Domain.

Where: Meet at the carpark of the Royal Akarana Yacht Club (RAYC) - See map below.

When: 19 September at 17.30hrs
At 18.00 hrs we will depart from RAYC, turning left onto Tamaki Drive in convoy around the Waterfront bays to St Heliers, where we will turn using the perimeter roads around Vellenoweth Green (See map below). We will then attempt to convoy back into town to meet at the Auckland Domain in a combined Jaguar, Daimler, Land-Rover and MG group, although parking in a large group may prove challenging.

With only a very short time to organise this convoy, it will be informal in nature and we may well lose our convoy in traffic, but please note the following requests,.
• Let's try to stay in convoy and no speeding or overtaking
• Let's get out our Union Jack Flags;
• Let's switch on our headlights
• Let's wear lots of red white and blue in a united show of respect via our band of British cars, on the day of the Her Majesty The Queen's funeral.

The Funeral will be at our time - 11pm on Monday night 19-Sep-22.
