Visit Boyd-Dunlop Gallery and view 'Further Afield,' exhibition showcasing the enchanting oils of blooming floral scenes by Hawke's Bay artist John Lancashire - otherwise recognised as The Monday Painter.
Opening Friday 11th November, 5-7pm. Refreshments will be provided.
John Lancashire, also known as The Monday Painter, attended art school in Sydney briefly but is largely self-taught, developing his own very distinctive impressionist style of painting.
John has exhibited consistently over the last decade or more, gathering a loyal base of paint enthusiasts. His works can be found in private collections, here in Hawke's Bay and abroad.
"My aim is to explore the possibilities of painting through a select collection of subject matter. My work is generally 'local' ie: a reflection of where I am physically and holistically: a communique to the collective."
