Join Maddy for a walk to explore the park and delve into our connection with nature.

This walk is designed to cover a broad cross-section of the elements of Cornwall Park ecology and how all of nature's elements connect to one another. We will explore things from trees, to birds and our sheep poo! This walk is crafted to people who are new to the world of ecology and suitable for all ages including children (children must be accompanied by caregivers).

Registration is essential and numbers are limited. To register for this guided walk please use the link above or email info@cornwallpark.co.nz

Please dress for the weather conditions, wear sturdy shoes and bring a drink bottle with you. To attend our walk participants over 12 years and three months old will need to present their My Vaccine Pass on arrival and scan our QR code.

Masks are required for the introduction at Huia Lodge, but not required for the outdoor component of the class where social distancing is possible. If you feel more comfortable wearing them the whole time, we support your decision.

Location: Meet at the Huia Lodge Discovery Hub

Your guide
Maddy used to work at Cornwall Park as part of the Huia Lodge Discovery Hub team where she designed trails, wrote a lot of ecology content and greeted visitors. She now spends her time working at Kelmarna Gardens where she is the chief composter, managing Soil Factory, their community composting social enterprise. In this role she supports local businesses and residents to join the circular local food loop, reclaiming organic resources and creating living compost to support our food production. When not at Kelmarna, Maddy also works on developing and delivering urban composting solutions at For the Love of Bees.
