Halloween Night Shuttles at the Waitangi Mountain Bike Park

Move over trick or treating, uplift night shuttles are the new cool way to do Halloween.

Dress up in your best scary costume (obviously something you can still ride safely in) or dress up your bike, and come on in for a few rounds of Uplift Shuttles within the Waitangi MTB Park.

It will still be daylight when we first begin, however, the dark will still hit us about mid-way through, so lights for night riding will be required. Maybe, they could be incorporated into your costume??

Night Riding: Night riding is awesome, a super cool experience. If you haven't been riding your bike in the dark before, then you are missing out...BIG TIME! One of the last opportunities to do it this year, before daylight runs right through to 10pm. Night riding is achievable by all levels of rider, not just experienced riders. With a set of decent mountain biking lights (ideally one mounted on the handlebars, and one on the helmet). You can ride pretty much just as easy (or some people say even easier) than during the daytime.

Lights: If you are yet to purchase lights and are needing advice, get in touch with the Paihia MTB Team, before Monday. They have light sets in stock you can purchase, and a few sets available for hire. Light Hire is limited, so is on a first serve basis and must be prebooked.

Shuttle Details: Leaving Carpark at 6.30pm sharp, and doing loops to Zone 2 Drop Off, Zone 3 Drop Off and Pick Up 3 (Bledisloe Rd). This is the usual weekend shuttle route.

Cost: Same as usual public shuttle service. Use your existing Shuttle Cards. It ends up about $5 per uplift. You will need to purchase you shuttle cards in advance (this can be done onsite at the PaihiaMTB Office before 6.30pm on the night). Shuttle Cards are shareable and valid for a year.
