Historic Wharf: Waterfront Walking Tour

Don your comfiest walking shoes and delve into the history and archaeology of the Auckland waterfront!

This guided walking tour is hosted by the Auckland Archaeological Society in association with the New Zealand Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa. The water’s edge today is far from where it was in 1840 and many buildings, structures and institutions have come and gone from this ever-changing part of the city.

The walk will begin outside the newly refurbished Britomart Transport Centre on Queen Street and then meander around the neighbouring streets and wharves.
