This is a small group experience, so places are limited.
The day offers you a hands on and informative chance to learn what you need to know about growing your own Oyster mushrooms.
You will find that Aidan has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.
He is best described as a successful self taught mycologists and food forest ecosystem systems designer.
This workshop focuses on cultivation of Oyster mushrooms and it is a very good introduction to growing your own fungi.
Please bring a pen and paper for note taking as well as rain gear incase of bad weather.
This course will cover:
- The Ecology Life-Cycle of cultivated Mushrooms
- The 7 basic stages of Mushroom Cultivation
- Choosing a Mushroom to cultivate
- Choosing, handling and storing spawn
- Cultivating mushrooms on pasteurised or sterilised media
- Cropping containers
- Creating a starter kit (hands on)
- Natural Pest and Disease Management
- Coffee Ground Culture Techniques
