Indigo Dyeing Creation Solo Exhibition by Artist Wen-Chun TANG
Wen-Chun TANG was immersed in learning and producing indigo dyeing artworks when she was young due to her geographical advantage. She was deeply attracted to the local ‘Indigo Blue’ from Taiwan and has devoted herself to indigo dyeing techniques and implementation. She has demonstrated various blue dyeing techniques she learnt in this exhibition. Step by step, she is cultivating the usage of ‘Taiwan Blue’ in Taiwan.
Her most significant responsibility is promoting Taiwan indigo dyeing and integrating indigo art into everyday life by hands-on planting indigo-yielding plants and indigo dye. She has been sourcing natural ingredients to be environmentally friendly. She also acquired natural dyeing techniques from different countries through extensive international exchanges to enhance Taiwanese indigo dyeing.
