This course has been carefully created by professional photographer and tutor, Nic Clegg, specifically for secondary school students (13 – 18 years). An amazing opportunity for teens who want take their first steps into digital photography, or for parents who are looking to nurture their child’s creative and/ or technical aptitude.
In this 10 hour introductory workshop over two Sundays, students will learn to drive their DSLR or mirrorless camera and achieve professional results in their images. Students will learn to shoot using manual settings giving them total control of their camera.

- Understanding light
- The exposure triangle
- Composition
- Editing tools

Date: Two Sundays, 3rd & 10th April
Time: 11am – 4pm
Cost: $150
Students must bring their own DSLR or mirrorless camera with a 'manual' setting that takes interchangeable lenses. Nic will have a few cameras available for hire. Contact will need to be made prior to the workshop to arrange. BYO lunch or snacks. Café down the street.
Nic is a full-time artist with more than 25 years experience in creative industries. As a sculptor and photographer, he enjoys sharing, learning, and developing skills with up-and-coming creatives. In previous years, Nic has taught sculpture, but now, in addition to his art practices, he is an Arts Educator at Toi Ohomai Tauranga, where he co-delivers the Photography Pathways and Portfolio courses.
