Come and join us for a series of workshops on playing Irish traditional tunes.

Monday evenings, 7.30 - 9 at Toi Pōneke, 61-69 Abel Smith St, in the Community Room.
Six sessions, starting Monday 31 October, weekly till Monday 5 December.
$15 per session, $10 for students.

Workshops taught by by James McNamara (fiddle), with a different guest tutor each week.

The workshops are focused on tunes and musicianship rather than being instrument-specific. We will focus on teaching tunes by ear, and delving into style, phrasing and other aspects of Irish trad playing. We’ll emphasise techniques that are useful in sessions, including learning from different instruments.

Suitable for anyone who can play their instrument but wants to learn more about playing Irish trad music.

For questions please contact james.mcnamara.music@gmail.com
