Italian Film Festival - From the Vine

International coproduction between Italy and Canada, centred around the world of wine, and filmed in Acerenza, a 2000 year old town never before featured on film. From the Vine stars Emmy winner Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos, The Matrix, Memento), Canadian Screen Award winner Wendy Crewson (Air Force One, The Santa Clause) and Italian acting legend Marco Leonardi (Cinema Paradiso, Like Water for Chocolate).

Joe Pantoliano stars as Mark Gentile, a downtrodden CEO who escapes to his small town birthplace in rural Italy to catch his breath and reassess his priorities. During his visit he encounters his late grandfather’s old vineyard, dormant for many years but for the few bottles the local groundskeeper raises alone.
