Voices of Hope is a New Zealand Mental Health Charity that aims to influence and create change for Mental Health, whilst providing hope through the Voices of those with lived experience. Founded by Genevieve Mora and Jazz Thornton, Voices of Hope shares lived experience stories of those who have fought mental illness and other related mental health challenges.

Thanks to The Withiel Fund Charitable Trust, Voices of Hope has received funding to hold these events in Auckland and Christchurch, they are free to attend (register for tickets) and will run for around two hours. (Doors will open at 6pm, guaranteed entry for ticket holders up until 6:25pm, event will wrap around 8:30pm).

Our events titled “It’s not weak to speak” aim to encourage help seeking behaviour through sharing the stories of those who have walked similar paths. Each event will include multiple speakers sharing their own experience as well as a panel discussion involving people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

We want people who come to these events to feel inspired, empowered and encouraged to reach out for the help and support they need and deserve.

We know from our work, that when someone shares their own stories and experiences, it allows others to open up and feel safe to do the same. #ItsNotWeakToSpeak

Please note that themes discussed may not be appropriate for younger children. Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
