This is an opportunity to listen to experts from the community and to share knowledge about the kuumara and the hue.

The kuumara and the hue have a rich whakapapa in Aotearoa New Zealand. Learning to grow kuumara and hue connects people back to this history as well as to the whenua. The waananga will conclude with a shared kai for all the community to enjoy.

This event is organised by Te Papanui (The Enderley Community Centre), Go Eco (The Waikato Environment Centre) and Te Puna Kai o Waikato (a network of kai projects in the Waikato). It is part of the Matariki ki Waikato Festival.

For more information on this festival visit the Matariki Ki Waikato webpage above.
