From the team at Little Dog Barking, this performance and interactive workshop is a wonderful exploration of how you make puppets, how you use puppets, and how you make up stories. This half-day workshop is full of imagination and creativity, suitable for children aged 6 -12 years of age.

To begin, our professional puppeteers perform “Let’s Make A Puppet, Let’s Tell A Story”, a creative theatrical adventure where participants watch simple stories unfold using shadow, rod and hand puppets, made by hands, fingers and simple props.

Then the performers work alongside the participants to first make their own simple hand puppets, and then to create and perform their own stories with them!

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the start of this event. Late arrivals may be admitted on a case-by-case basis.

Let’s Make A Puppet, Let’s Tell A Story performed by Little Dog Barking is a part of Beyond the Page, a literary festival for tamariki and their whānau on from 11-22 July. Find out more on our website: beyondthepage.nz/
