If you’ve read and re-read JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit *and/or* binge-watched Peter Jackson’s epic fantasy adventure films based on the books, then don't miss The Lord of the Rings Quiz at the Featherston Booktown Karukatea Festival.
We can now reveal our scoop celebrity guests: Sir Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger, co-founders and co-directors of Wētā Workshop!
You may remember Richard from his super popular appearance at the Featherston Booktown Fish’n’Chip Supper in 2016. He and Tania are having a big Lord of the Rings weekend as they’re also celebrating the 14th birthday of the Weta Cave in Miramar.
Richard will kick off the Quiz with stories about his experience with the beloved films. Tickets to the Quiz include hearing his anecdotes, then you can stay on and give the quiz a go – it’s fun even if you’re not a mega-fan (you can even buy answers for questions with jewels provided on your table). Put a quiz team together OR just come and we’ll hook you up with a team. Great for ages 13-90+ (And there’s even a little something for the younger set if you want to come as a family).
Get dressed up and come and have fun, hear Richard’s cool stories, and have a go at the quiz with epic Quiz Master and Tolkien fan Sadie von Scrumptious.
Curated by Kathy Drysdale, who runs the Lord of the Rings homage museum in Newtown, the One Room Fan Museum.
