800 Degrees is proud to be able to offer workshops at our premises based in Greenlane, Auckland.
The workshop will present the making of a vessel or an open cast tile using clay for the tile for open casts. Vessels will be made using the lost wax method. In this workshop, you will learn about the art of basic lost wax casting techniques and open casts using clay, and textures.. carving into wax or making positive textures on wax.
The workshop runs one full weekend, with the following Saturday being a half-day class (so 2.5 days).
Course participants will learn about the lost wax processes of cast glass using lead crystal glass, which is supplied within the course fees up to 1kg of lead crystal to use.
With the new framework for Tamaki Makaurau, 800 Degrees Glass course participants will be required to show their vaccine pass, so please ensure this can be done before registering for the workshop.
