Everybody loves native birds. They are an integral part of our collective cultural identity. The Machine Wreckers are a new group of musicians and dreamers comprised of Kurt Yates on Guitar, Willie Divine on Keys and Turntable, Alec Withers on Drums and Adrian Thornton on Bass and Animation. They express their love of our natural environment in this musical homage to the birds of Aotearoa with projected animation and found film. Through this immersive audio visual journey you will come to a new affinity for nature and all it's birdlife, but more than this you will come to an understanding that in the very moment you are losing yourself in the cacophony of nature the entire environment of this Planet, the future of all our families and every single Bird paid homage to during this show, are being destroyed by the extractive ideology of Capitalism...every time we support or enable Capitalism and endless consumerism to continue, we are by extension enabling the destruction of our own Planet...in other words, participating in Capitalism is participating in Collective Suicide. This might be the gig that changes your life!

Fringe in the ‘Stings is coming to shake up Hastings. In the first two weeks of October the beating heart of Heretaunga is given over to diverse quirky performance. There’s baroque and burlesque, cabaret and comedy, theatre and thrash metal, all at low prices making FitS a festival for everyone.
