A public concert presented jointly by the Otago & Southland Organ Association and The Rare Byrds Early Music Consort.

The Organ recitalists will include David Burchell, Joseph Kelly, Oliver Peyroux, Stephen Chalcroft and Alan Edwards.

The Rare Byrds are a Dunedin-based early music consort specialising in Renaissance and early Baroque music. The group formed in 2009 and since then has performed in a wide range of settings and events, including house concerts, school programmes, puppet shows, fire performances, dances, and weddings.

The Rare Byrd programme:

- Harmony of the Spheres (early Italian contrapuntal piece)

· Old Pastoral Hymn (arrangment of a setting by a modern Swedish composer)

· Mille Regretz (De Prez)

· Playford bracket (Newcastle, Hole in the Wall, Nobody's Jig) (English country dance tunes)

· Fantasia Chromatica (Diomedes Cato)(Diomedes Cato (1560 to 1565 – d.1627 in Gdansk) was an Italian-born composer and lute player, who lived and worked entirely in Poland and Lithuania. He is known mainly for his instrumental music. He mixed the style of the late Renaissance with the emerging Baroque, and also Italian idioms with Polish folk material; and in addition he was one of the first native-born Italian composers to visit Sweden.)

· Sellenger's Round (Wm Byrd)

· Three Ravens (Ravenscroft)

· Scottish bracket (Lochaber, Johnny Faa, Lord Aboyne)
