“THIRD TIME’S A CHARM”
2022 is MEGA+ due to the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 Events. Instead of 4 soloists art forms and Troupes competing, we will have all 8 soloist art forms and Troupes competing, so as to not disadvantage those competitors (Modern, Highland, Speech & Instrumental) who missed in 2021 as well as those who missed in 2020 (Piano, Vocal Ballet & Tap Dance).
This is an amazing opportunity for the local performing arts fans to attend & support New Zealand's greatest young performing artists.
The Troupe section has maintained its popularity, so it will be held on the Wednesday before the soloist Competition begins. This will be an exciting start to the Competitions and will expose many more young performers to a high level of Competition. This event features prominently in the New Zealand performing arts calendar, achieving high praise from nominees, teachers, parents, audiences and volunteers.
With the hosts Palmerston North Dance Assn and Manawatu Performing Arts Competitions Society we are excited to showcase approx. 310 young Ballet, Tap Dance, Vocal, Pianoforte, Modern Dance, Highland Dance, Speech & Drama and Instrumental Soloists as well as more than 1100 Troupe Competitors in the only National competition of its kind.
The National Young Performer Awards provide the opportunity for competitors to see how they fit on a National level of competition and for the viewing public of New Zealand to have the enviable opportunity to see the cream of both local and national performing artists compete.
