Moonlight Meditation

You are invited to experience the peace and tranquillity of practising meditation by moonlight. The gentle sounds of nature at night are an ideal setting to focus and reflect on 'inner' experiences. During your time within Te Tūī ā Taane southern enclosure, we will encourage you to develop an attuned approach to your meditation and to your ongoing experience.

Guidance will be offered by Elizabeth Day and Willa Thaniya Reid of Kihikihi Meditation & Yoga. They will guide you through sessions of walking and seated meditation. You will be encouraged to practice in silence. This allows a deepening of your ability to notice and reflect on ‘inner’ experiences, and to attune to all the maunga offers.

Schedule

6:30pm – Registration at the Manu Tīoriori visitor centre.

7:00pm – Meditation practice will begin

8.30pm – Break (hot chocolate supplied)

10.00pm – Farewells

All proceeds of this event go towards conserving the flora and fauna of Maungatautari.

Any level of experience is welcome – whether you are new to meditation or experienced. Wear warm clothing and layers and bring a water bottle, snacks, and a blanket to keep you warm.

Please note there are limited places for this event, please register by booking online or by contacting one of the visitor services team. A vaccine pass and face covering is required (unless medically exempt) for Manu Tīoriori. However, a face covering is optional once in Te Tūī ā Taane southern enclosure.
