The Whakatipu Reforestation Trust's vision is to restore the biodiversity of the Whakatipu Basin through revegetation projects, education, collaboration & advocacy. Our community nursery was established in 2014, and it is here we grow all of our native plants for community planting days on public land around the Whakatipu Basin.
Volunteering at our community native plant nursery provides an opportunity to learn new skills and gain knowledge about growing native plants, to make a difference to our local environment and to meet a range of interesting people. Our volunteer sessions are open to everyone in our community. No experience is needed, our Nursery Coordinator is there to assist all volunteers.
Volunteer sessions run every Wednesday morning between 9am-12 noon, drop in style. Morning tea provided.
Please bring your own gardening gloves, hat, water & sunscreen.
