Make art that surprises and inspires!
10:30AM - 12:30PM Monday to Friday, both weeks of the School Holidays.
The Gallery’s popular school holiday programmes offer drop-in, hands-on art making session that the whole family can enjoy.
Inspired by the current exhibitions, the programme changes daily.
Week 1 programme:
Mon 3 October | Feeling Drawing:
Try out fun drawing techniques inspired by Len Lye’s art.
Tues 4 October | Night Window:
Paint an artwork showing what’s outside your window after dark. Dress for mess.
Wed 5 October | Print and Stamp:
Make your own printing stamp inspired by Indonesian art then print onto paper or fabric. Option: BYO t-shirt or old tote bag to print onto.
Thu 6 October | Pasifika Day:
Join us for a special session, with an opportunity to learn Pacific dance moves and make your own lei.
Fri 7 October | Te Hiku o te Tohora:
Use rubbings from nature and hangarua (recycling) to create hiku (whale tails) inspired by the Tohora and Kauri pūrakau (story).
