Odile Decq is an internationally acclaimed French architect, urban planner and academic. She is the founder of the Paris firm, Studio Odile Decq, and the architecture school, Confluence Institute.

Odile is renowned for her distinctive style and use of bold colours, particularly black and red. She has a spirited personality and strong views on education and equality. In 2016 she was awarded the Jane Drew prize by The Architectural Review and Architects' Journal as part of the Women in Architecture awards (WIA), an annual programme that seeks to recognise the contribution of female architects. She was awarded the Golden Lion of Architecture during the Venice Biennale in 1996. She has recently completed her first residential build, Antares Barcelona, a bold 30-story tower of 89 residences overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Light refreshments will be available after the lecture. This event has been kindly supported by the Embassy of France in New Zealand.
