Painting in the Bays

Enjoy painting in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere with like-minded individuals. You are encouraged to work independently on your own project and generate your own ideas, at a scale of your choice. In support of this we will explore elements of abstract painting such as colour, gesture, texture, mark-making, and layering. From acrylic paint and medium demonstrations to brush and pen techniques, each session will kick-start with a practical demo you can then apply to your own project (if it resonates with you). The demonstrations are used to encourage experimentation, challenging you to think a little differently.

This class is suitable for young adults and upwards who are passionate about expression through the wonderful medium of paint. At the end of the term, you will walk away with your completed painting or mixed media project(s). Additionally, you can expect to have expanded your painting and drawing skillsets, form new friendships, and have the confidence to constructively critique artwork as a group.
