Local artist Fa’amele Etuale will be hosting a pattern painting workshop at Fresh Gallery Ōtara.
Bring along an object to create into a piece of art. Using acrylic paint, Fa’amele will show those who come along to the workshop how to paint patterns onto unconventional surfaces. If you don't have an object to bring along, we can provide something for you.

This workshop can only accommodate 15 people, so please register with the gallery to ensure you get a spot! To register please email freshgalleryotara@aklc.govt.nz or call 09 261 8030. Please provide your name, how many places you would like to reserve, a contact phone number, and an email address.

This workshop is held alongside Fa’amele Etuale’s solo exhibition Remember Me which will be running until February 5 2022. This exhibition of works by Sāmoan (Laulii, Malie, Leufisa, Tufulele) / Chinese visual artist, contemporary Pacific jeweller, designer, florist and lei maker Fa’amele Etuale. Her work pays homage to her alofa (love) for her a’iga (family), God, culture and grief. Contemporary jewellery offers a medium to capture and archive memories through the objects she creates. Fa’amele’s process is indicated by pivotal moments in her life; adornment has created a structure for her to encase, reflect and release emotion.
