Join Printmaker Lisa Feyen from Ink Moth Print Studio for a one-day play with creating repeat patterns on textiles, suitable for beginners and mixed abilities.

You will learn how to design and carve a lino block, ink it up and print on fabric to create unique contemporary repeat pattern designs. The secret of creating seamless repeat pattern blocks that lock together will be revealed, ideal for pillowcases, aprons, tea towels, tablecloths, napkins, wrapping paper, stationery or even wallpaper. You will be amazed with how easy it is to repurpose op shop fabric finds, adding your own touch of magic to pieces for your home.

Part of the day will also be dedicated to experimental printmaking with found objects, just for fun!
All materials will be supplied, but you are encouraged to bring your own selection of plain or patterned fabric, or readymade items - plus scraps to practice on. Once you have learned how it all works, you can set up your own print studio at home with minimal equipment required.

After the course, you will go home with your own designed and printed tea towel, and a satisfying pile of printed pieces for your sewing projects.

What to bring:
A small selection of cotton pieces (calico, linen, or cotton mix fabrics - plain or patterned)
Drawing paper and pencil/eraser
Some visual inspiration to get you started (magazine snips, photos, drawings etc)

What’s supplied:
Lino blocks
Fabric ink in a range of colours
Squares of plain fabric and a 100% cotton tea-towel
Fabric scissors, lino tools and other equipment will be available to use.

For Ages: 14+
