ROBOTS IN LOVE has always been difficult to pigeonhole, mixing electronics with rock elements and ranging from sensuous grooves to pounding industrial beats. You can hear elements of dark pop, techno, trap, drum’n’bass, goth and industrial. With more than 50 releases, there is a lot of material to choose from. No two shows are ever the same, but always entertaining and powerful.

On Saturday 6 Aug they return to The Crown with their full line-up to celebrate the release of the latest remix, "Torn Apart".

The original song was released in 2009 by Australian Goth Rock band Ikon, with its distinctive piano melodies and brooding vocals.

After hearing the previous Robots In Love remix of "Good Cocaine" by Swedish artist JA/VI, Ikon asked Elenor from Robots In Love to remix a track from their forthcoming re-release of their album "Love, Hate and Sorrow" and she chose "Torn Apart”. Ikon have included it on their gold vinyl box set to mark their 30th anniversary.

The remix lays down slow, heavy beats and cranking bass then builds melodies and atmospheres into a hypnotic journey of emotion.

You’ll hear it live on the night.

PRETTY TRIPPY combine two essentials in life: funk and activism and will be playing some new songs on the night.

Featuring James Dickson, Bruce Mahalski, Hamish Fyfe, Mathew Fleet and Alexander Burchell.
And first up on the night, LES MARIONETTES (previously The Lucky Ones) with their shredding guitars and dark vocals.

Three very different bands, all worth seeing.
