Senior safety day - morning session

In recognition of International Day for the Older Person, we’re hosting a Safety Day for Seniors, broken up into two sessions.
We will have representatives from Age Concern talking about AgeConnect Manawatū – a free service that enhances the well-being of older people who may be feeling socially isolated. This will be followed by the Elder Abuse Response Team covering the varying types of elder abuse, signs that an older person may be a victim of abuse, and ways to increase safety.
After a light morning tea, we will hear from Supportlinks about support services available for older people and their whānau. After this, staff from Manawatū Community Law will talk about the importance of allocating an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA) to manage your affairs if you are not able to look after them yourself.
Registration is necessary for catering purposes. Don’t delay as spaces are limited.
