Songwriters' Showcase #84 may be the upcoming event you’re looking for.

The 19 June show features Laldy, The Godwits, and Butter Wouldn't Melt with Lara Rose.

Laldy - Laldy (adverb): "To undertake an action with gusto or great enthusiasm." Fiddle player Rachel Evans and multi-instrumentalist Donald James combine forces for one mission: to play folk and gie i' laldy. Laldy are inspired by Celtic and Scandinavian music traditions to play a selection of sweet original songs, modal grooves and trad bangers.

The Godwits - The Godwits are a collection of musician friends who flock together to play an eclectic mix of mostly originals leaning towards the less is more principle. Having fun playing music is their mandate. Plucking tunes from many genres, wading in the rich tidal waters of world music.

Butter Wouldn’t Melt - Butter Wouldn't Melt will melt your heart with their soulful stories, vibrant voices and faraway fables. They are proud to have launched their debut album "1931" this summer with an album tour of the North lsland. Their original material is a blend of New Zealand themes to an Americana soundscape. Butter Wouldn't Melt sing of New Zealand history, long-lost lovers, fairytales and (very) distant serial-killer relatives.

Lara Rose - Lara Rose is a Dunedin-based singer songwriter. In the recent years Lara has brought her indie-folk like style and collaborated with US-American import Jack Ringhand to form the band "Tall Folk". In January 2022 they released their debut album "Wiser". A collaboration of both of their writing styles brought to life by Dunedin's most talented musicians, recorded at Chick's Hotel in Port Chalmers. Lara will be singing songs from this album as well as a newly written tune or two.
