Celebrate Aotearoa New Zealand’s Suffrage Day on Monday 19 September in Kate Sheppard’s house and garden.
1.15pm - 3.15pm - Suffrage Celebrations at Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House
Join us to celebrate the 129th anniversary of Women's Suffrage with afternoon tea, music and mingling.
Courtney Hickmott (soprano) and Mark Menzies (piano) will present a selection of music performed and held by Kate from her personal collection.
This event follows the Christchurch city Suffrage Day Celebration, 12pm at the Kate Sheppard National Memorial, 159 Oxford Terrace, free to attend.
Price: $20
Includes afternoon tea, entertainment and time to explore house.
Bookings essential, limited tickets.
Parking
Street parking can be limited during the week. Try the University of Canterbury's pay and display Clyde carpark on Arts Road (5 minute walk), or take bus 100 or 120, which both have stops outside on Clyde Road. Please contact us prior to booking if you require accessible parking.
