Celebrate Women’s Suffrage at He Tohu!
Take part in a 30-minute guided tour of He Tohu as we celebrate the determined suffragists that led to us becoming the first self-governed nation for women to have the right to vote. The tour will focus on the 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition — Te Petihana Whakamana Pōti Wahine. We’ll explore the journey of the petition, examine the social context of life in Aotearoa New Zealand at the time, and discover the people involved in this monumental effort.
RSVP to book your spot by emailing bookings@hetohu.nz.
We recommend taking some extra time at the end to explore the rest of the exhibition.
