at Nathan Homestead Pukepuke. Local artists
Haley Lowe (Ngai Tuhoe/Ngati Raukawa/
English) and daughter, Mereana-Wairua Lowe
(Nga Puhi/Ngai Tuhoe/Ngati Raukawa/English)
weave together a collection of artworks to
explore coming of age, birth, body, and trauma.
Through ceremony, karakia, film, poetry,
sculpture, and painting, creativity is understood
as a powerful tool to heal. And in the artist’s
own words, “We are here! We have power! We
are changing the narrative!”
