The Mā'ohi Nui (French Polynesian) community of Tāmaki Makaurau presents Tā'ere Mā’ohi i Aotearoa / Mā’ohi culture in New Zealand. Join the community in celebrating Mā'ohi Nui culture. Discover the tao'a (treasures) that are the symbols of their living past, and hear the pehepehe (songs) that take them back to their native islands.

Everything you will see and experience in the gallery has been chosen by the community to tell their own story, from the treasures on display, to the labels, the signage and even the lighting.

Tā'ere Mā’ohi i Aotearoa is an invitation to experience the rich heritage and culture of its people through images, projections, and traditional objects.

On select days, the community will be leading their own activations for the public.
