Join a guided tour of Wellington's oldest cemetery, starting at the Seddon Memorial entrance at the end of Kinross Street, and finishing at the Bolton Street Cemetery Museum in Bolton Street (just off The Terrace). This is a special opportunity for Wellington Heritage Week.
See graves of well-known Wellingtonians; hear stories about unusual deaths, tragic heroes, and infamous people; admire beautiful Victorian headstones. Your guides are enthusiastic volunteer members of the Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery.
The tour will end with a special guided exhibition tour of the new displays in the Museum (in the replica chapel building) led by Lara Simmons of Trestle Creative, who designed the new Museum displays in consultation with the Friends.
Please note: not suitable for wheelchairs. Wear sturdy shoes, as some paths are steep or may be slippery.
