Join us for the opening preview of two wonderful new exhibitions running together at Mitchell Studios. Simon Jay and Mike Aamodt are Wellington artists presenting images of our ever-changing capital city.

Transient Spaces – Simon Jay
Simon Jay’s acrylics offer suggestions of iconic views of our changing cityscape and our place within it – showing our city as a transient place of change. Beginning as personal interpretations of Wellington, Transient Spaces has gradually extended to include other parts of New Zealand.
Gone Not Forgotten – Mike Aamodt
Walking along Wellington’s Golden Mile in the 1970s, Mike Aamodt noticed the wonderful architecture that was being demolished. Had anyone documented these buildings before their demise? There began a project which now comprises 800+ negatives of our old buildings.
Gone Not Forgotten and Transient Spaces will remain on display until Saturday 3 December and be available to view on our website once the exhibition has commenced.
