We invite you to join us for ‘Vaka Teu: Future of fashion’ talanoa (panel discussion), celebrating Tongan language week in the heart of Tāmakai Makauarau!
Get a real insight into the New Zealand fashion industry, it's history and what we anticipate for fashion’s future.
We will share about fashion career pathways, a directory of industry connections in supplying and clothing manufacturers and connect our Pacific aspiring designers with leading industry people.
We will have an eclectic panel talanoa, break into small groups for further in-depth connection, accompanied by kai, kava, Tongan performance, and music by DJ Rizzy.
Joining us is:
Louina Fifita our first Tongan member of the Mindful Fashion New Zealand, a collective of New Zealand designers founded by New Zealand leading designer Kate Sylvester
Dan Ahwa, Creative and Fashion Director for award-winning magazines Viva and Canva
Juliette Hogan, winner of the Supreme Business Excellence Award at the Westpac Auckland Business Awards 2021 and successful business owner and fashion designer
