Mānawatia a Matariki!
Celebrate Matariki and the newest national holiday for Aotearoa. Vector Lights on the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge is supporting Matariki Festival with a spectacular new light and sound show from iwi partner Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.

The show will launch with the festival on Tuesday 21 June, running to Sunday 26 June, then Friday 1 July to Saturday 2 July, and Friday 8 July to Saturday 9 July. Show times from 6pm to midnight, playing every 30 minutes.

The rising of the Matariki star cluster heralds the beginning of the Māori new year. It is during this time that we acknowledge those who have passed on, spend time with families and prepare for the year ahead. Vector Lights for Matariki Festival tells the story of the festival’s iwi partner, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, and their story of Matariki rising with the whakataukī of Ahi Kā roa (burning fires).
