Discussion with Who Am I? Understanding Personality Types, Wellington:
What's my greatest strength? And why can't others always see that?

Each personality type has a dominant mental or cognitive function that we rely on. It's the basis for our self-esteem and that which we value most, while at the same time something we may wish to change, but keep returning to - and something others have judged us for. That judgement has caused many of us to feel undervalued on our dominant or most important beliefs, and such judgment can lead to frustration and even illness.

Yet we are all different and cannot value the same things, and by understanding that these values belong to who you are inside, you stand stronger against the judgment of others.

We will discuss all sixteen types, so even if you do not know much about type, you can recognize your own strengths and from there learn to understand the why and how of our differences.

VENUE + GOLD COIN DONATION
The meeting will be held at Thistle Hall in the downstairs meeting room (entrance off SH1/Arthur St). We ask for a gold coin donation to help cover the venue costs. You are more than welcome to bring food and drink if you’d like; there are shops and cafes nearby.

For more info and to RSVP, go to the Meetup page above (see website section).

ABOUT
This is a group for everybody who would like to understand a bit more about themselves and the people they live or work with through sharing with others. Maybe you would like to know why your kids always clash, or why your partner is so sensitive...or not sensitive enough. Maybe you would like to know why you or somebody you love never seems to fit in. Maybe you want to know why you have chosen a certain profession. Maybe you just want to share what you know about personality types or learn what others know.

The main focus of this group is on understanding the 16 psychological types first described by Carl Jung and made popular by Myers-Briggs and David Keirsey. The key is that once we understand that we are not all alike, we can open our minds to sharing rather than judging each other and learn to celebrate our differences.
