PRESERVE YOUR HERITAGE WITH THIS CREATIVE PROJECT.

Many people have material - letters, diaries, notes, photos and so on - about their family which they would like to put into story form to share, especially with children and grandchildren. But they don't know how to start or fear their writing isn't good enough.

Susan will guide you to put aside your hesitations. You will each find a structure and approach to your writing project which works, that enables you to use valuable old material and to mine your own and others' recollections.

Every life is interesting, families are intriguing and all these stories and memories capture much that will be gone or changed by the time the next generation discovers it - from the way we use our phones, to what we think about race, to farming or wine-growing methods and much more.

We all sit somewhere in a family, curious about the old folk long gone, hoping to leave something significant behind. Heritage and legacy live in our stories.

WHAT TO BRING:
You are going to spend quite a bit of time writing – so bring a laptop, or large format notebook, pens, pencils. Bring the tools to write the way you like.

And bring any material you have about your family. Photos, diaries, notes, recipes, newspaper clippings and so on. And any family writing you’ve already started. Bring it all the first day.
